B is for...
…Book!
Merry New Year everyone, I hope you all had a magical Christmas time and filled yourselves with copious amounts of mince pies!
I’ve been neglecting my blog (and the rest of the world) a bit because I’ve been very busy working on my new book. Making, writing, designing and looking for wonderful illustrators to make it extra special. It’s going to be a crafty adventure and I can’t wait to share it with you- if all goes to plan it will be on shelves by this Autumn, just in time for Christmas.
I wish I could tell you more but I want it to be a surprise!
I was featured in Style at Home magazine this month but I think Twiggy was the highlight (she’s such a poser). There are some tips for how to make a vintage inspired home and some crafty tutorials for you too.

(Brand Spanking) New Range
Available to buy at the Southbank Centre shop in London
For more info about the Boost Launch from Confessions of a Design Geek see here ☟

You're my cup of tea
I've had such an amazing time during the Boost process and I've learnt such a lot about UK manufacture. It's been a huge learning curve, learning to take a step back and having to rely on others isn't easy when it's your own work involved, I've had to make compromises a few times, which was very hard for me but I've enjoyed every step an am so happy to have been involved.
The launch is on the 10th October, my products will go on sale at the Festival Terrace shop at the Southbank Centre in London, and on their online shop. As well as my book you'll be able to buy tea towels, bags, lampshades, teacups and expresso cups and all will have a flirty phrase printed either on the product itself or on a tag.
Confessions of a Design Geek is Boost's online partner and you can find my interview here as well as the other 5 designers interviews and their mentors.
They are also in partnership with the Observer, here is the article which was out on Sunday
More news:
Stylist Magazine is 3 years old today and they're running a competition for the best front cover. Mine was issue 61 for a feature on crafting your own business. Vote here

Boost
Hello!
I’ve been very busy these last few months working on a collaboration with the Southbank Centre. They’re running a scheme called Boost, in partnership with the Observer and with the support of Cockpit Arts. They’re working with 6 new designers including myself to launch a product or range of products that will be sold in their very cool design shop from October 2012.
I’ve spent the Summer working on an exciting new range, which I hope you’ll love, and working with the experts who have kindly volunteered their time to support the scheme- Keith Stephenson and Mark Hampshire from MiniModerns, Helen Johannessen of YoYo Ceramics, Rebecca Chitty of Product Of Your Environment, Michelle Mason, Ellen O’ Hara of Cockpit Arts and several others, which has been great.
Profiles of all the designers, along with our progress and products can soon be found on award winning design blog Confessions of a Design Geek.
I’ll post some photo’s soon and keep you updated with all the news.
I really love this Pet Sounds wallpaper from Mini Moderns ☟
And this cake stand by Michelle Mason makes afternoon tea time extra special ☟
My new website has also been launched, what do you think? www.chloeowens.com

And they called it Poppet love...
If you haven’t already discovered My Poppet for yourselves, then you’re missing out!
A girl after my own heart, craft blogger extraordinaire Cinti talks about all things handmade, she also runs an online shop where you’ll find a treasure trove of handmade and vintage goodies, including her gorgeous make your own vintage bunting kit which was featured in All Sewn Up as an alternative to cutting out your own.
These are a few of my favourite things
Handmade quilt $85
Now, I’m a vegetarian but even I can’t resist her felt fried egg & bacon play food $12 (even veggies love the smell of bacon!)
She also sells an irresistible collection of vintage fabrics from $5
Perfect for making many of the projects in All Sewn Up ☟
