Goodbye Jakey

Some sad news for this post I'm afraid, Jake my beloved cat passed away after a long battle with kidney disease. As you may have seen in previous posts, he loved to sit and watch me work and was always getting up to mischief, knocking my buttons on the floor and burying himself under piles of fabric.

I'll miss him watching me work and cheekily dipping his paws in my tea. Things will be very quiet from now on.
It was supposed to be a surprise but he was going to be a character throughout my book, with illustrations by Gemma Correll of him getting up to all sorts of mischief throughout. I've decided he will still be a character and the book will be dedicated to him. This way he will live forever.

Goodbye Jakey, my little ray of sunshine.

  2. I too have a furry companion who likes to 'help' me when I'm creating...........

Although he doesn't dip his paw into my cuppa he does like to find a spot to sleep amongst the fabric I'm using. Maybe he's hoping I will immortalise him in some of my work.

The book sounds like a lovely idea Chloe........

  3. Sorry to hear of your loss - because that is what it is. Pets become members of the family and when they go, it leaves a real hole. Love the idea of a book to immortalise Jake! Will look out for it.

We've had cats and dogs (our last one went to Doggy Heaven in 2003 and was a real character). We've got too old to properly care of animals now, but I do enjoy other folks'! Maybe that's why I'm now concentrating on cuddly toys? You and your chums may like to visit my Etsy shop at www.coldhamcuddlies.etsy.com as well as visit my blog at www.ColdhamCuddliescalling.blogspot.com. Will look out for you all. Meanwhile, I'm going to follow this one too, so I can look out for the book dedicated to Jake!

    All the best. Isobel
